EastEnders killer flees Walford after her huge secret is exposed
One fan favourite's guilty conscience gets the best of her.
THE Six have been desperate to keep their murder secret under wraps for several weeks.
However, next week, one EastEnders legend flees Albert Square as her secret is almost rumbled.
Linda Carter (portrayed by Kellie Bright) has been struggling with the memory of Keanu Taylor’s murder.
As regular BBC One viewers will remember, the Vic landlady has been spiralling out of control and turned to alcohol once again to drown her sorrows after stabbing the hunk in the back, killing him.
Following her crime, Linda was helped by five other Walford women and the group disposed of Keanu’s body underneath Kathy Beale’s café.
But while she remains on edge, terrified that her secret may slip out, Linda has benefitted from the support of her pal Alfie Moon (Shane Richie).
The pair decide to leave Walford together in scenes due on our screens.
Coming up next week, Linda wakes at The Vic full of regret and confides to her mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
Meanwhile, Alfie has a heart to heart with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) who encourages him to take a holiday to celebrate the end of his cancer treatment.
In other scenes, Linda bumps into Alfie on the Square and apologises for avoiding him.
After Alfie reveals he’s leaving the Square for a holiday, they head to his flat for another deep conversation… and he invites her to go with him.
Linda is shocked but her decision is seemingly made when Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) returns to the Square with plenty of questions about her son Keanu.
Karen is completely unaware that Keanu is dead as she was pushed out of the fictional London borough of Walford herself once she was exposed for faking Albie Watts’ kidnapping ordeal, prior to the events that unfolded on Christmas Day.
Linda baulks at the sight of Karen and rushes back to The Vic to pack a suitcase and leave.
Elaine catches her daughter red handed and tries to persuade her otherwise.
Unfortunately for her, Linda is adamant she is leaving with Alfie.
Later on, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is shocked when Elaine lets slip that Linda is leaving the Square.
Could she alert the rest of their accomplices?
Will the Five have to do something about Linda?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
