EastEnders fans confused as they share same complaint over Keanu body blunder

EastEnders fans have raised some questions about Keanu Taylor's body as a panicked Suki Panesar prevented the builders from beginning the restoration work on the café

EastEnders fans shared the same complaint as Keanu Taylor’s deceased body remains below the café.

On Christmas Day, Keanu (Danny Walters) ended up dead in a dramatic twist after being stabbed by Linda (Kellie Bright). The Six then moved Keanu’s body and buried in the café, which has been closed since it burnt down in November.

During Monday’s instalment (January 8) of the BBC soap, Linda caused a scene the middle of the square as she realised builders had arrived to start restoration work on the café. Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) also panicked, realising the builders would discover the body in no time.

Suki fumed at the builders for continuing the work whilst Nish (Navin Chowdhry) was still in hospital, but they explained they were contacted by the owner. Kathy managed to persuade the workers to temporarily stop by tempting them with a free breakfast.

As the men walked away, a distressed Kathy told Suki: “That body is covered in a bit of tarpaulin and rubble. If they start digging…” But Suki insisted she would sort it.

During the episode, fans questioned how people are still unaware of Keanu’s body as it would no doubt be decomposing and therefore smell. One wrote: “So, let me get this straight. There is a dead body in the café, been there 2 weeks in a 3 foot hole with a table and chairs thrown on top of him, and no one can smell it yet??”

Another added: “It takes about 3-10 days for a human body to decompose. The smell must be overwhelming.” A third weighed in: “I can’t figure out why nobody is complaining about the smell by now, it’s got to really whiff!”

Someone else chipped in: “They need to go buy Febreze now to cover the decomposing flesh smell in the café… although I’m not certain that’ll work.” At the end of the episode, members of The Six gathered to discuss moving Keanu’s body.

But they were interrupted by a phone call from the hospital. Suki returned to reveal that Nish had woken up. As Denise (Diane Parish) jumped for joy in learning they didn’t have a second body on their hands, Suki was more worried about Nish remembering the events of Christmas Day.
