EastEnders spoilers: Sharon Watts’ Christmas groom confirmed as shocking murder mystery is filmed
We’re achingly close to Christmas and while the presents and the decorations are great and all, the annual festive outing of EastEnders is the real highlight of the holiday season.
This year’s edition of the BBC One soap is particularly special, proving to be the most anticipated festive outing to date, having been teased all the way back in February with a historic flashforward scene.
The scene in question, which was littered with clues and hints, saw six of Walford’s most iconic women, including Sharon Watts in a wedding dress, standing over a deceased corpse, whose identity was spectacularly withheld, leaving us all desperate to find out who it is.
After months of watching closely in a bid to spot any potential clues that may provide us with answers, we’re just weeks away from finding out who it is that perishes, with Christmas Day a mere 69 days away.
The excitement is real.
EastEnders is in the process of filming its Christmas scenes, with the Square having already decorated for the festive season, and now several cast members of the serial drama having been spotted on location as part of a shoot for the upcoming murder story.
Letitia Dean, Danny Walters, Kellie Bright, Diane Parish and Gillian Taylforth, who play Sharon Watts, Keanu Taylor, Linda Carter, Denise Fox and Kathy Beale respectively, were all present.
Letitia, in character as Sharon, was spotted wearing a wedding dress and it’s not just any old wedding dress but the one previously seen in the flash-forward sequence!
Danny Walters, who plays Keanu, was pictured in a suit which, after months of speculation, seemingly confirms that he’s the groom that Sharon is set to marry on the big day.
But will he wind up the corpse too? That remains to be seen but, given that he’s currently plotting to seduce Sharon simply to get custody of son Albie it’s certainly a possibility!
Kellie, meanwhile, was pictured in character as Linda wearing the iconic pink dress she donned in the flashforward with her hair styled in the exact way it was in the episode in question, while Kathy star Gillian Taylforth was seen in her purple frock, also from the flashforward.
It’s actually happening! We’re so close to the mystery being solved.
The festive outing of EastEnders rarely disappoints but this year it’s more anticipated than ever before courtesy of the storyline in question so if you haven’t been watching the show as of late then start tuning in because you are not going to want to miss this!
