The Six are set to be faced with a huge problem in upcoming EastEnders scenes when Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) arrives back in Albert Square in search of son Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
The women are already stressed by the possibility that the café floor may need replacing, and Karen’s sudden appearance does nothing to ease their panic.
Luckily, it is Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that she first sees, who appear to be holding it together much better than some of the others.
Ever since The Six helped to cover up Keanu’s murder, they have slowly been falling apart one by one, with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) hot-footing it to Australia, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) seeking guidance from her serial killer ex and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) very nearly cracking and revealing all to Alfie Moon (Shane Richie).
Karen is determined to get answers about what happened on Christmas Day, and Stacey and Kathy have their work cut out to convince her of their version of events.
While The Six worked to hide Keanu’s body on that fateful night, they concocted a story to cover up their actions.
With Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) having been knocked out by Denise, The Six agreed to tell police that Keanu had been behind the attack, before holding them all at knife point and eventually fleeing from the Square, never to be seen again.
Will Karen accept that version of events?
Following their altercation, Kathy grows concerned that Karen may be a threat to their freedom, and ruthlessly decides to take action by reporting her to police for Albie’s kidnapping.
Viewers will remember that Keanu kidnapped Sharon’s son Albie – who he believed to be his son at the time – after his plot to take him out of the country went wrong.
The kidnap plot was later unravelled by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), and when Keanu placed all the blame on his mum, Karen had no choice but to flee Walford.
Having already shopped husband Rocky Cotton to the police for starting the fire at the café, we know that Kathy is more than capable of turning on her friends and family.
Is Karen destined to spend years behind bars, while The Six continue to walk free?
