DANIELLE HAROLD is best known for her role as Lola Pearce in EastEnders but the actress is now a reality TV star as well.
In November 2023 the star, whose soap character left Walford in heartbreaking scenes earlier in the year, was confirmed for the line-up of the 23rd series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.
Who is Danielle Harold?
Danielle Harold is an actress from Lewisham, London.
She was born May 30, 1992.
Her first TV appearance was on the reality series Jamie’s Dream School in 2011 – a show in which Jamie Oliver enrolled pupils with fewer than five GCSEs into his “dream school” where they were taught by celebrities who specialised in various subjects.
In June 2011 she joined the cast of BBC’s EastEnders as Lola Pearce- the granddaughter of Billy Mitchell.
In 2012 her character gave birth to baby Lexi in a special live broadcast.
Harold became the first EastEnders actress to portray giving birth live on air and the second soap actress after Coronation Street’s Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Brown.
For her role as Lola, Harold won Best Leading Performer at the British Soap Awards, the TRIC award for Soap Actor and the Inside Soap award for Best Actress.
When did Danielle Harold return to EastEnders?
Harold reprised her role as Lola Pearce in April 2019 after four years off screen.
At the time, the actress said: “I’m so excited to be returning to EastEnders next year.
“EastEnders was my first acting job and I have so many happy memories from my time there.”
Harold then left the soap for good in 2023 when her character died in heartbreaking scenes.
Throughout her time on the show, Lola was involved in huge plots like her teenage pregnancy, her battle to keep newborn daughter Lexi out of care, and her relationships with Peter Beale and Jay Brown.
Her exit storyline began in 2022 when she discovered she had an untreatable brain tumour.
Initially, doctors were hopeful they could cut out the majority of Lola’s tumour and then treat her with chemo and radiotherapy to get the rest of it but, sadly, this wasn’t the case and the character was told she didn’t have long to live.
Lola’s final scenes then aired during the EastEnders episode on May 31, 2023.
After leaving EastEnders for the first time in 2015, Danielle starred in several low budget horror films.
These included Fanged Up, Two Graves, The Tombs and Monster.
In 2019 she also starred in the films Innocent Candy, Pleasureland and New Girl.
In November 2023 Harold was confirmed as a campmate on the Ant and Dec-hosted I’m a Celebrity.
The actress joined JLS singer Marvin Humes, This Morning host Josie Gibson and First Dates star Fred Sirieix on the cast.
Ahead of her trip to the I’m a Celebrity jungle, Harold confirmed that she is single.
In the past, she has been linked to her EastEnders co-stars Jamie Borthwick and Bobby Brazier.
