Last week, the character was forced to leave Walford for good after Ravi couldn’t go through with dad Nish’s demands to kill her.

Nish had discovered Eve’s affair with wife Suki, and clobbered Eve over the head with a bottle of fizz before bundling her into the boot of his car and telling his son to kill her.

However, Eve managed to escape once in the woods in the middle of the night, only for Ravi to catch up with her and pin her to the ground.

But Eve pleaded for her life and Ravi was unable to fulfil his dad’s request, however, he told Eve that she had to leave Walford for good otherwise Nish would ruin his life and he in turn would kill anyone Eve had ever cared about, such as Suki and Stacey Slater.

Eve was last seen picking up her backpack and running into the night, but EastEnders fans are already convinced that won’t be the last they see of her.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Of course Eve is gonna be not gone for long! Reckon she returns at some point over Christmas.”

Another added: “Eve returns to kills nish on Christmas.”

A third tweeted: “At least we know Eve’s alive & she obviously wouldn’t abandon Suki for long, maybe she returns at Christmas?”

Meanwhile a fourth shared: “Eve will be back Xmas Day to save her true love Suki.”

Last week, Heather Peace – who plays Eve – took to Instagram to share a lengthy post marking the end of her time on EastEnders.

Sharing a sweet snap of her with Suki Panesar star Balvinder Sopal, she wrote: “The secret is out! Nish knows!

“I love this story & the time & care that’s been taken by all the team @bbceastenders

“Suki’s story has resonated with so many from what I’ve seen. The representation has meant a lot too through Eve presenting the way she does.

“So many thanks to the writers and producers for playing this story out in real time. It’s been a precious thing, certainly for me, having not seen a love story like this when I was growing up.

“I feel blessed to have worked alongside so many beautiful actors too who also care about story telling.”

EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
