Martin Fowler star James Bye in onstage horror as EastEnders star splits his head open during show
The soap icon was pictured with a bandage on his head and wearing a sling on his arm
EASTENDERS legend James Bye suffered an onstage horror after he split his head open – but continued with the show.
The star – who’s most well known for his role as Martin Fowler in the iconic British soap – was performing at a pantomime show when he suffered the nasty injury.
His co-star Rhiannon Chesterman took to Instagram after the performance to reveal that James had split his head open in the very first scene.
Despite the dodgy injury the long running soap star put on a brave face and pushed through until the show’s climax before he was bandaged up.
The social media post showed the pair – who play Snow White and the Prince – posing together backstage with huge smiles on their faces.
Rhiannon captioned the snap: “Look at our brave Prince.
“Split his head open in the first scene, carried on and decided to ‘make a thing of it’ so strapped up his arm for good measure.”
Followed by the hashtag Trooper.
James shared the cute picture onto his account with an embarrassed emoji attached.
The soap star has spent all of December playing the Prince in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre in his first ever panto role.
The soap icon went off to do Snow White just months after he and his wife Victoria welcomed their fourth baby into the world.
He is set to carry on performing until January 3, 2024, when he is expected to return to the streets of Albert Square and be back on our screens.
The 38-year-old took over the role of Martin Fowler on EastEnders in 2014, and has been involved in a number of dramatic storylines.
Away from Walford, he has also appeared in a number of movies.
His film credits include Cemetery Junction in 2010, The Great Train Robbery in 2013, and The Hooligan Factory in 2014.
James is no stranger to taking on ambitious projects outside of his acting roles as just last year he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.
James and dance partner Amy Dowden were quickly eliminated from the show as James labelled it as “one of the worst experiences of my life”.
Pantomime’s across Britain are still in full force as the festive celebrations continue.
But one star who hasn’t been having as much fun as James is Katie Price.
The former glamour model is starring as The Wicked Fairy Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty this Christmas and is said to be receiving £60,000 for the honour.
But panto organisers have reduced ticket prices in the wake of her receiving scathing reviews from some audience members.
