James Farrar pays emotional tribute to legendary EastEnders co-star as he braces for ‘heavy months ahead’ in Walford
James admitted he wanted to "gain perspective" ahead of some big storylines for his character.
JAMES Farrar has paid an emotional tribute to a legendary EastEnders co-star as he braces for ‘heavy months ahead’ in Walford.
The 36-year-old actor plays Zack Hudson in the BBC soap, and taking to his Instagram, he shared an update with fans after returning to set from a New Year’s break away to Nepal.
James shared a video of him walking to set with on-screen girlfriend Shona McGarty and EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer, who recently confirmed she is reprising her role as Bianca Jackson for a brief stint.
The trio were singing Whitney Houston classic ‘It’s Not Right but it’s OK’ and looked to be getting along like a house on fire, which is crucial as the actor hinted tough times were ahead for their on-screen alter egos.
He wrote in the caption: “Since returning from Nepal I’ve been leaving home for BBC Elstree at 5am and returning 8.30pm.
“The imminent long days and other challenges in 2024 were part of the reason we decided to embark on a trek…
“I knew filming was going to be busy from January so the adventure was a conscious decision to gain perspective before a heavy few months on set.
“12 hour hikes and the cold nights on the mountain helped prepare me for shooting in a t-shirt in the snow last Tuesday (it’s March in story) – @aaronthiara_ you firmed it lad.”
James continued: “You’re in for a treat… @patsypalmerofficial is back on set and what a joy she is to have around the place on these long days. Tish told me Pats and I would get on. Full of life, and gratitude. And absolutely electric as Bianca.”
EastEnders fans know that Shona, 36, is leaving the show in the coming months, with Bianca’s return also factoring into that.
As well as the video and pictures from set, James also posted clips of him shirtless at the gym after a work out as well as some inspirational quotes.
He added: “There’s been no let up in my training in January. Those 5am starts are so that I can train before I get on to set.
“I’m still to have a day off sick in any job; having never had a day off sick from school. I put that down to my training and nutrition, staying focused, journaling and setting micro goals.
“As well as surrounding myself with the right energy. Moving my body is essential for my mindset… but so are my people.”
