EastEnders’ Dean Wicks to be hit by sad news before Christmas

A surprise visitor returns to the Square.

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders villain Dean Wicks will be dealt a blow in upcoming scenes.

The daughter he had after a fling with Shabnam Masood returns to Albert Square for the first time since 2016, but doesn’t stick around for long after Linda Carter tells Jade her father is a sexual predator.

Dean came back to the Square to be near to Jade, who has cystic fibrosis and needs a live-saving lung transplant.

In scenes airing the week before Christmas, Dean (Matt Di Angelo) is thrilled to receive a call from the hospital about a transplant for Jade.

He shares the news with Gina Knight, who congratulates him, but later drowns his sorrows when he finds out that the transplant has been called off.

These scenes are part of the build-up to the Christmas Day episode, where the identity of the murder victim will finally be revealed.

Potential candidates have been narrowed down to seven in newly released promotional images, with Dean firmly in the firing line alongside Jack Branning, Nish Panesar, Ravi Gulati, Rocky Cotton, Keanu Taylor and Phil Mitchell.

The killer will be one of Kathy Beale, Suki Panesar, Denise Fox, Linda Carter, Stacey Slater and Sharon Watts.

In a statement, the soap said: “Viewers know that one unlucky Walford male will find himself on the floor of the Queen Vic in the dreaded cufflinks, but two very important questions remain to be answered – who is it, and how has he come to be there?”

EastEnders airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday December 18.

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
