EastEnders spoilers: Jack makes a decision on Stacey and Freddie’s killer secret
Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) was left stunned in recent EastEnders scenes when Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) admitted that she had planted the wrench on Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) to protect Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier).
Viewers will remember that Freddie saved Stacey from evil Theo by attacking him with an iron when he caught him trying to rape her.
However, Freddie was terrified of being sent to prison for the attack, so Stacey and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) planted a weapon in Theo’s hand to make it look like Freddie had acted in self defence.
Theo had been stalking Stacey for months and had already proven how dangerous he was when he broke into her house.
Despite mounting evidence against him, the court failed to secure a stalking protection order, meaning he was free to harass Stacey again.
Jack couldn’t believe what Stacey was admitting to, and revealed that she could get a lot of people in serious trouble.
He explained that she and Eve could end up back in prison, he could face losing his job and the case against Theo could fall apart leaving him to walk free if he kept quiet.
Stacey insisted that he couldn’t possibly understand what they had been going through in those moments, and that if he’d have seen Freddie he’d have understood why they did what they did.
Despite the risks, Jack agreed too keep Stacey’s secret, insisting that nobody needs to know what really happened.
He made it clear that what Stacey had done was wrong, but that she had done it for the right reasons, given what could have happened if Freddie hadn’t intervened.
With Jack prepared to keep Stacey’s secret, has Freddie got away with it?
