Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) was left gutted when Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) revealed that she couldn’t join him at the hospital for his last radiotherapy session in EastEnders, after promising that she would be there.

Though Alfie put on a brave face, it was clear he was hurt by Linda’s change of plans.

At the hospital, where he was set to receive treatment for his prostate cancer, he got talking to another patient, but was left downhearted when his friends and family arrived to support him, leaving Alfie totally alone.

Following the session, Alfie returned to the Square, where he ran into Linda once more, who was determined to make up for missing his appointment.

Calling on Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) for support, Linda organised a lads night for Alfie at the Queen Vic, promising that the first round was on the house.

Linda hated the idea that Alfie was having to deal with his illness almost totally alone, and urged him to open up to his friends about what was really going on.

However, as the drinks started flowing, Linda chased him up on the idea, but he was quick to brush it off, claiming that he didn’t want to put a downer on the evening.

As the men continued to drink and laugh, Alfie suddenly felt the urge to use the bathroom, but was left horrified when he couldn’t make it in time – a symptom of his cancer

Not realising what was really going on, Alfie’s friends laughed about the incident as Alfie stormed out, humiliated.

In upcoming scenes, Alfie will finally open up to his friends about his diagnosis, and, though they are shocked, they vow to support him.

However, by the end of the week, it is Linda who ends up needing support, and as Alfie steps up to console her, she ends up revealing more than she should…
