Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) has always been a nasty piece of work, but he’s set to get even worse in upcoming EastEnders scenes as he takes revenge on Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

Over Christmas, Suki finally managed to escape her abusive marriage to Nish and, following the events of Christmas Day, was relieved when Nish agreed to a divorce.

However, in upcoming scenes, Nish makes the divorce process as painful as possible for Suki by inviting the Giani from their temple to act as a mediator in the hopes of humiliating her.

Worse still, with Nish having recovered from the injury Denise Fox (Diane Parish) inflicted on him on Christmas Day, he grows determined to work out what really happened when a conversation he overhears between Suki and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) arouses his suspicions.

Certain that they are hiding something, Nish pulls out all the stops to wreak revenge on his wife.

Suki is under pressure from Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) to get the divorce deal done so that the café – and Keanu’s body – is safe from Nish, and when she goes around to discuss things Nish continues to probe her about Christmas night.

She twists things in an attempt to throw him off the scent, but when Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) later lets slip some details about Stacey’s past, he changes his tactics entirely.

Determined to get the truth out of someone, he breaks into the Slater house and confronts a terrified Stacey, but is stopped in his tracks by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).

With tensions high, Suki heads over to see Nish, who wastes no time in playing his trump card.

He reveals that he’s changed his mind about their deal, and he will be keeping all the businesses – including the café.

He makes it startlingly clear that if Suki doesn’t agree then he won’t divorce her, leaving her trapped in their marriage.

Torn between agreeing to the deal and winning her freedom, or taking Nish to court and risking him going to the police, Suki has a very difficult decision to make.

Will she agree to his terms and finally get her life back, or sacrifice her own freedom to protect The Six’s secret?
